me for a walking tour of some of my favorite food shopping locations.
We will visit Hong Kong Trading (duck legs for confit, fresh
oriental vegetables and greens, frozen oriental foods, masses
of dried and canned oriental ingredients), Omi Food (also oriental
with a somewhat different range of fresh vegetables and greens,
frozen baby squid, otherwise similar to Hong Kong Trading),
Hötorgetshallen - Latin American butcher (flank steak,
ox tail, T-bone steaks, great sausages, canned and packaged
goods from Latin America), Spice and snack store (the best selection
of olives in town, masses of spices and herbs, enormous range
of great snack foods like Bombay Mix), NK Food Hall (very good
fruit and vegetable selection, good delicatessen), Gateau (bread,
cakes), Androuet (French cheese), Östermalmshallen - classic
Swedish foods (game, poultry, fish, superb pork, delicatessens,
bakeries, fresh fruit and vegetables), Sibyllans Kaffe och Tehandel
(coffee, tea, chocolate, biscuits), Tösse (bakery, cakes,
sandwiches), and Vi Sabis - my favorite grocery store with outstanding
selection of cheese, meat, fish, imported goods. We will stop
for lunch at a café or "graze" while shopping
as the group chooses.
