In 1967 the Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas established a Foundation to carry out its philanthropic activities. Incorporated in Missouri as a not-for-profit corporation, The FAWCO Foundation is entitled to accept donations that are deductible for US income tax purposes.

Run by a board of directors, every one a member of a FAWCO club, it exists only to serve the Federation: to plan, organize, raise funds and carry out projects for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, and to prevent cruelty to children.
