Left Wisconsin before we were called cheeseheads; joined the AWC one week after I arrived in August 1983. Enjoyed a career in technical communications at the IBM Nordic Lab (1984-1995). Launched a company while pregnant with my second child (1988). Built the company in parallel with my IBM job (was I nuts, or what?). Served on the AWC scholarship committee (late 1980s, early 1990s) and on the EC as bizniz manager (some time in the 1990s, which are a big blur because we were raising two kids). Left IBM to freelance full time, which I still do. Sold my translation customer list in 2008 but still write, edit, and advise students on theses and dissertations; in parallel, I teach translation, Pilates, yoga, ChiBall, and myofascial release. I’m proud to be an AWC member and look forward to another tour of duty.

What you give out comes back to you.
