Founded in 1982 by former AWC President Jessie Lokrantz, the AWC Scholarship Foundation has been making it possible for American women to study in Sweden, allowing us in the AWC to share our adopted country with our fellow countrywomen.

The scholarship which is based on academic excellance, is awarded in the form of a travel grant for $1,500. The grant was initiated to cover the cost of a round-trip airplane ticket between the US and Sweden.

In order to qualify for the AWC Scholarship, the applicant must be currently living in the USA, 18 years or older, an American female citizen and accepted for a period of study or research at a Swedish educational institute during 2006.
Deadline for 2006 applications is March 31, 2006.
