About American Women's Club in Stockholm Scholarship

The American Women's Club in Stockholm Scholarship Foundation strives to promote the development of ideas through academic exchange across cultures. Founded in 1982 by former AWC President Jessie Lokrantz, the AWC Scholarship Foundation has been making it possible for American women to study in Sweden, allowing members of the AWC to share our adopted country with our fellow countrywomen.

The scholarship, which is based on academic excellence and commitment to improving humankind, is awarded in the form of a stipend. The purpose of the stipend is to assist in covering expenses incurred while studying in Sweden.

In order to qualify for the AWC Scholarship, the applicant must be 18 years old or older, an American Female Citizen, and accepted for a period of study or research at a Swedish educational institute during 2008/2009.
