Evening Reception with the American Ambassador to Sweden,
and a Special introduction of the 2004- 2005 AWC Scholarship
Recipients

On
September 23rd, 2004 the American Women's Club hosted
a reception at the US Ambassadors Residence which was
organized by Rebecca Warnander, Kim Andersson, &
Linda Pinkham to raise funds to support the AWC Scholarship
Recipients for 2005. The event was attended by over
100 people, including all three of this year's scholarship
recipients: Becky Jean Curtis, Rachel Licker, &
Sarah Tiedemann. Two of our scholars are currently in
the LUMES program at Lund University and the third is
here with us in Stockholm, studying at the Royal College
of Music. The AWC of Stockholm is pleased to announce
that this year's event raised over 25,000 Swedish kroner.

All
funds raised will be distributed in the form of travel grants
that will be awarded to next year's American Women Club Scholars
who will be joining us in Sweden in the Fall. A profile of
each of our scholars will be added to the AWC Stockholm website
in the near future. We will also be including more information
about the AWC Stockholm Scholarship Program, as well as more
information on our winners from previous years. We would like
to take this opportunity to thank the Ambassador Bivins &
his wife for the gracious support & hospitality in making
this such a successful event. Most importantly, we thank you
all for joining us in our first AWC Evening Event this year
and greatly appreciate your support!!
