Kitzia Casasola is beginning her Master’s in Public Health at Stockholm University, where she will focus on health policy and health equity. Kitzia has worked at the intersection of higher education, healthcare, and the nonprofit sector, most recently as Program Manager for the Biomedical Research Education Office at the University of Utah, supporting an NIH-funded initiative to prepare underrepresented students for careers in biomedical research. Prior to that, she secured funding for essential mental health programs serving low-to-moderate income populations. Kitzia grew up in Southern California and has spent the past eight years in Utah.
Kitzia and her husband, Jeff, are parents to two children, ages nine and six, and are excited to embark on this new chapter of academic and cultural exploration together as a family in Sweden.

DONATE TODAY
To continue the tradition of the Jessie Lokrantz scholarship, the American Women’s Club is reaching out to individuals, companies and organizations in Sweden with solid ties to the United States. We aim to strengthen ties between academia and the professional workforce, and perhaps encourage exchange of professional knowledge between our scholarship recipients and the Swedish professional workforce. No donation is too small! We appreciate your generosity.
